1559/60 - attacked several times by French corsairs
21/9/1593 - Parker attacks and captures the town in a surprise move. The two Spanish governors Francisco Interan and Francisco Sanchez organised a counter attack while the English were busy looting, and surrounded them. Using prisoners as a shield, the English fled with little booty.
