Food, Water & Morale

The basic concept of staying fed, watered and happy at sea while on voyages.

Food

The best part of sailing in Europe was the fact ships did not venture far from land and hence were at least vaguely well supplied. Food preservation was not well advanced at this stage in history, but would not be far away. Long journeys around the Caribbean and across the Atlantic meant sailors were often reliant on perserved food and drink.
