American Western
- The peons wear over shirts, pants, sandals and small sombrero. Bandits
wear vest, long sleeved shirt, long pants, bandolier, pistol belt and sombrero.
- Peons with peon weapons (4) One
peon standing with a sling, which is held out behind in the right hand ready
to cast. The other three variants are all the same body which is advancing
left leg forward, holding a 10' pitchfork, 10' spade or 10' hoe before him
as he advances. His sombrero hangs upon his back. The hand/weapon assembly
on the 10' weapons is cast separate to the body.
- Peons with rifles (4) Variant
1 is advancing warily with a rifle held down low like he is on peace keeping
duty. His sombrero hangs upon his back. Variant 2 stands left leg forward,
holding his rifle up at 45 degrees as he cocks it in preparation to fire.
His sombrero is on his head. Variant 3 as per variant 2 but sombrero on back
with slightly different head. Variant stands with right arm held back ready
to sling lit dynamite whith rifle held at waist pointing forward in left hand.
The foot bandits wear pants, shirt, jacket, boots, bandolier, one holster
and the sombrero hangs upon their backs.
- Bandits (4) Variant 1 stands right
leg forward, pistol held up at 30 degrees as though taking sight in preparation
for firing. Left arm is held down behind him. Variant 2 stands firing his
pistol from the hip in typical gunslinger pose with his left hand held over
the pistol cocking it for each shot. Variant 3 stands firing rifle from hip
facing on an angle to the left. Figure 4 stands firing pistol rih tleg forward,
right arm forward, left hand held back at angle with second pistol.
- Bandits on horses (4, 3 horse
variants) Variants are firing pistol to right with left arm held up at angle
with second pistol. Sombrero on head. Variant 2 riding with left hand holding
rein, right arm bent at angle so that pistol is pointing up to the right at
an angle. Sombrero on back. Variant 3 is looking right, pointing pistol forward
to right, left hand holding reins at waist. Sombrero on head. Variant 4 is
riding whooping it up, right arm held up pointing pistol to sky, left arm
holding reins up at chest height. Sombrero on head. Casting and sculpting
is neat with clear characterisation. Horses are standing passively, galloping,
trotting. Saddles have rope on left side, and a pair of saddle bags.

Saloon Girls
- Powattan Indians (10) (27mm) Image 1 &
Image 2 All very neatly sculpted and quite thin
(for wargaming figures who seem to eat mostly pizza and solid fat) these figs
are excellent historical miniatures.
- 100FAN01 Female Indian warriors - 4 variants with
front & rear images shown.
- Saloon girl (can can) - 1 variant
- Saloon Girl (indian theme) - 1 variant
- Saloom Girl indian theme leaning on lamp post

Eskimos
- 100COL04 Armoured Eskimo (4) - pic 1 - pic
2
- 100COL05 Unarmoured Eskimo (4) pic 1 - pic
2 wearing seal skin fur lined pants, boots and coat with hood.
He stands left foot forward with left arm held low, right arm held up at eye
height with a short 5' thrusting spear. The coat has a longish tail reaching
down to the back of the right knee. Reminds me of some old timpo figures.
Well done. I assume it is wearing mittens, as the hands are abit bulky
Hawaiians
- Warriors and Elite - 10 variants being 2
elite and 8 normal, armed with barbed spears, war staffs, and knives. eye
height 24mm, 2 are elite figures with fur cape and crested helm, or at least
that is what it looks like. One figure has a broad jagged edge knife, the
other a finer pointed dagger. The first has a quilted loincloth, the other
a plain loincloth, other wise they are undecorated. The other 8 are regular
natives. They are unadorned except for plain loincloth, in a variety of poses
and weapons. Simply the variants are slinger about to release shot, advancing
with club, advancing with paddle looking weapon, advancing with long serrated
sword, advancing with 11 foot serrated point spear, advancing with 8 foot
fighting stick, one advancing with 6 foot serrated spear, and one receiving
pose with 6 foot serrated spear. I also received a spare 6 foot serrated point
spear and 6 foot fighting stick. Posing is nice, and the casting and sculpting
is sound. Sizing is visually appealing, ie not fat or chunky. I can't say
the faces look to me to be Hawaiian, but what do I know.
- HAW01 Hawaiian Pikemen (3)
- 100HAW02 Hawaiian Slinger (2)
- 100HAW03 Hawaiian Warrior with hand Weapon (3)

- HAW10 Merchant Canoe, 7 crew and resin canoe
- HAW11 War Canoe
- These have previously been reviewed by Chick Lewis in R.G.M.H., so without
further ado, here are my scans for them. 7 Variants, 2 armed with sword, one
with 12' long blowpipe, 4 with short spear. 5 have a shield, and they have
feather and sword scabbard accessories. Casting and detailing good. Cast on
bases.
New Zealand Maori Wars
- 100COL16 British Infantry (5)
- 100COL21 Maoris with guns (5)
- Maoris with traditional weapons (8) - (23-25mm) To go with prior Maori
Wars figures, a bunch of traditional maoris with native weapons. The surface
detail on these figures is 'rough.' I'm not sure how else to describe it,
the surface isn't super smooth like usual Eurka castings. It is the same with
the hawaiians and other maori figures. I assume it is the sculptors style.
This does not make the figures bad. They wear grass skirts and are otherwise
unadorned. We have three armed with long baseball bats (essentially), 2 with
stone axes, and three with tufted spear. The posing is ok, and the faces very
expressive.
- 100COL17&18 Militia (officer + 4)
- 100COL19&20 New Zealand Constabulary (5)
More New Zealanders. Here we have 5 troopers (26mm), 4 in fringed overcoats
and kepi, one in basic breeches, coat and dish type hat. They are all armed
with matchlock rifle and carry a blanket roll, pouch, knife, and ammunition
pouch. One is firing, the others advancing.
Pirates
- Chinese pirate (16) You will
spot the odd figure out here. We have 15 pirates, broken into 4 spear armed,
4 sword armed, 3 musket armed and four personality figures. The spears are
really two spears and 2 naginata. They all wear eastern 'pajamas' typical
of kung fu type movies. The swordsmen feature a woman in long dress with sword,
and hair formed up into a T shape. One leader stands in long robe and wields
a huge two handed cleaver. He is bald and has a long beard. Leader two is
also bald in a long robe. He stands en garde pose armed with two giant tasselled
maracas. Personality 'set' three is a jehail team, consisting of one musket
guy has a super musket, being longer and thicker than normal. His companion
is a lackey who hunches down abit with both hands held up to his right shoulder
to support the long barrel. I'd think two of these could also go together
with a homemade pole between them with a cargo supported on it. Overall the
figures have the style down pretty good and the faces are ethnically suitable.
Adornment is all very simple
Samurai
- 100SAM01 Warrior monks Eye height 28mm.
4 oriental bald monk variants armed with 2 handed sticks. They have sandals,
socks, baggy pants, shirt and very loose short sleeved jacket, one of which
has a hood. Three have separate elbows and weapons as one piece, while the
fourth has a separate weapon and right hand. Variants are: 3 of the same pose,
being, running at full gallop left leg forward, right leg way back off the
ground. One has left arm cast across chest, his separate right hand has a
weapon best described as 2 long bits of wood connected via a length of chain.
The other 2 have no elbows, one has a hood, one doesn't. The Fourth figure
runs with both feet almost together, but otherwise, same upper body. The separate
weapons/elbows are: holding long stick with left hand upper grip, holding
long stick with right hand upper grip, holding 3 bits of wood joined by 2
length of chain. Animation is good, casting and sculpting is good.
- 100SAM02 Armoured Samurai - (6) eye
height 25mm. Five poses based on the same body. This being fighting pose with
left leg pointed out ahead, right leg bent and turned to side as in crouching
receiving with sword pose. Five arm varianst are sword held vertical at
right shoulder two handed, sword held down forward along leg two handed, holding
sword two handed above roght shoulder pointing forward, left arm forward pointing
with sword right arm held back, left hand held forward pointing right hand
raised above right shoulder sword pointed forward. Variant six is right leg
forward, left hand at waist holding scabbard. Right arm held up forward at
60 degrees holding sword pointing down forward. All figures wear banded Japanese
armour and helm, and armed with two handed sword. Only variant six has a scabbard.
Sculpting and casting is neat
- 100SAM04 and 100SAM03 - Ashigaru (2 unarmoured,
2 armoured) Eye height 28mm. First two are variants on an unarmed ashigaru
with long bladed spear running. They wear long baggy jacket over shirt, and
knee length baggy pants with sandals. Both wear flat conical straw hat. Sculpting
is a little fluid. 2 armoured variants wearing Japanese banded armour, long
pants with sandals. They wear the cute box hat with fan tail. Pose one stands
with spear at shoulder height across body as though a second row spearman
holding spear over kneeling man. Second figure is that kneeling man with long
bladed spear braced at the ground with knee and held up at about 30 degrees.
Both figures neatly sculpted and cast.
- 100SAM05 Ninja with bow (2 variants)
eye height 25mm. 2 variants. Made by Mike Broadbent to go along with a former
popular Japanese theme based game, and moved across to Eureka. Both ninjas
come in traditional ninja attire, They wear long shirt, long pants, shin boots,
cowl, sash belt. Both have a separate ninjato/quiver set which sits on the
back. Figure 1 stands firing long bow, left leg forward. Figure 2 running
hunched down, right leg and arm forward. Left hand and bow is separate. Sculpting
is good, animation fairly good. I have seen much worse ninjas, on par with
Old Glory, but not as chunky.
- 100SAM06 Armoured Ashigaru with arquebus (2)
- 100SAM07 Samurai Rocket Launcher (2)
- 100SAM08 Male Hooded Ronin (2)
- 100SAM09 Female Hooded Ronin (2)
- 100SAM10 Casualties (4) One
new casualty for this set, being the guy laying on his back dead. He is 28mm
while the others are more 25ish.
