Elite 25mm Austrians

Last update 16th September 2002

Here is the catalogue listing of the Elite Austrians. My review on these figures is that they are not bad at all. The faces are their major fault, being at times a little undefined. They also have some rather chunky casting sprues and uneven bases. Also, some of the arms look abit unrealistic in posing. However, they are by no means bad and paint quite easily. Some of the horses seem a little odd, and the riders saddles do not sit neatly on their backs. A case of certain riders meant for certain horses. A number horses also have very tiny and unbalanced bases, and some are cast on a bit of a lean. As these are my first Napoleonic cavalry, I would be looking for other horses to use the riders on. Eye height varies 27-29mm. A number of the figures used as illustrations throughout this book are elite miniatures. They are cast in Australia under licence, available through Leroy Simpson at 1st Corps Miniatures, PO Box 6021, Mail Centre, Townsville, Qld 4810, Ph07 47231 402 email: simpsons@beyond.net.au
